A team of 6 members work together and share the responsibilities of arranging speakers, trips and organising the Science and Natural History Group to provide the best that we can for our members, by discussion and agreement. This Group tries to cover the very large subject of Science and Natural History through the use of Speakers and occasional day trips. For example, the use of DNA to convict criminals and to identify bodies found e.g. Richard III, and talks about Special Scientific areas local to us. Trips to diverse places as Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford, with plenty of Scientific and Natural History items and The Cotswold Wildlife Park, full of wildlife from across the world.
We meet on the first Monday of each month at 10.00am in the Caldicot Methodist Church Hall, except on Bank Holiday Mondays and in August. We charge £2 for entry, which covers the hall cost. The speaker will talk for about one hour after which we serve Coffee/Tea and Biscuits, which is covered in your entry cost. This gives you a chance to speak to our guest personally and chat with other members. Come along and enjoy a very interesting morning, you will find a very friendly welcome.
