Walking is a lovely way to spend your time. It is healthy, it is invigorating and you get to talk to lots of people; in general it is good for your wellbeing. The walk for Tuesday 1st September will be The Catbrook Half Circuit led by Jenny and Stan.

The walk is through varied terrain, fields, woods and a short road section.
Mostly flat with a short section alongside a wood that is slightly steep.( but we can take our time ).
There are about 10 stiles mostly made of stone, having good foot steps.
One field had standing maize when recce’d with a cut through foot way. Hopefully it won’t be cut on the day we walk.
The walk is near enough 4 miles.
The walk will start at 9 30 am from the Catbrook Memorial Village Hall where there is adequate car parking.
There are various routes but the following is the way I go.
Magor to Shirenewton turn down towards the Huntsman Pub across the junction and on up to Itton.
Turn left to Devauden. Turn left at the Village Green junction onto B4293 towards Trelleck.
On arriving at Trelleck ( Harold’s Stones field on right) turn right and stay right on Catbrook road.
At Broadstone Village Green junction turn left and follow road to the Catbrook Memorial Hall and park on the right opposite.
It takes approximately 40 mins to drive this route.

We have leaders and locations for the first 2 Tuesdays in September which are:-
1st September - Stan & Jenny - Catbrook
8th September - Sue Davis & SuePhillips - Gray Hill  (not the surgery!)
However we now need leaders and locations for 15th Sept, 22nd Sept, and 29th Sept so please can you dig deep and get these covered off.

A walk with the Amblers

As the new Group Coordinator in Caldicot u3a, I decided I needed to get out amongst the members and get to know what they appreciated and what they were looking for in our u3a. ‘Amblers’ was chosen as my first ‘victim’.
