AMBLERS WALK TUESDAY 8^TH SEPT 2026

Tuesday’s walk will be led by Sue Davis and Sue Phillips The walk will be an ascent of Gray Hill, the easy way. It is about 4 miles on forest trails and bridle paths. We'll start from the Foresters Oaks car park in Wentwood at 9.45: this is just after the reservoir on the left hand side. We walk around the base of Gray Hill, heading east. After 1.5 miles we turn left onto a narrower path which goes gently uphill and is a little stony underfoot. A pole may be helpful here. After half a mile or so, we turn left onto the path across the top of the hill which flattens out here and takes us to the viewpoint at the summit. We then return to the car park via a gentle descent through woodland. The current forecast for Tuesday is a 40% chance of light rain with a moderate breeze and temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees.
